Warm-Ups

Blaze practices will begin with a warm-up (listed below) which is the same warm-up each athlete should use during a meet. Each athlete may add event specific exercises or stretches dependent upon the events he/she compete in, but all athletes should be familiar with this warm-up.

Start:

10 air squats

5 burpees

1 lap around track

Down AND Back

50m Soldiers

50m Open Door down/Close door back

25m lunges/twist

50m toe walk/heel walk back

50m Walking high knees

50m A skips

50m B skips

50m quick feet

50m karaoke

50m back pedal

Fence: leg swings

  1. Parallel to fence: front to back

(R/L - 10 ea)

  1. Facing fence: left to right

(R/L – 10 ea)

  1. Squat - back stretch

 

 

  Hurdle Mobility (8 hurdles)

  1. Step overs/two feet between
  2. Step overs/one foot between
  3. Side steps
  4. Over/under
  5. Backwards
  6. Side step
